We have been here before and took a panorama of some kids having a good time: http://www.gigapan.org/gigapans/7122/snapshots/20473/
An article providing comprehensive information this plaza can be founfd here:
http://www.artlies.org/article.php?id=146&issue=41
This hand-held, 360-degree panorama was taken with a Leica D-Lux 3 camera and was stitched using the GigaPan Stitcher software. Additional details can be found on Stitcher Notes with information there concerning the GigaPan Stitcher run.
There was some difficulty stitching this because of the dark area and trees 180-degrees from the memorial, but persistence provided a solution.

This weekend is homecoming weekend at Rice and regardless of all the scheduled events taking place on campus, a number of us were drawn to the Jamail Plaza to see its dramatic fountain on this beautiful November morning.
Jamail Plaza and its fountain is located to the north of James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy or simply, Baker Institute.
Last year, in this plaza, we found Heather finding peace and serenity in the Jamail Courtyard in front of Baker Institute: http://gigapan.org/gigapans/13445/ as well as Saskia and Cristina as they attempted to tackle the economy: http://gigapan.org/gigapans/15381/
This hand-held panorama was taken with a Canon SX110 camera and was stitched using the GigaPan Stitcher software. Additional details can be found on Stitcher Notes with information there concerning the GigaPan Stitcher run.

Update: An update from the Houston Chronicle provides a clearer picture of current Government plans for the schools and has been appended to the earlier article which left some needless confusion to arise: http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/life/religion/6717563.html
Note: When I first U/L this panorama, it was entitled, Fear ! - 360-Degree Panorama, but that title may add to a sense of being a sensationalist, which I am not except to say that if my church was being shut down by the US Government, I would be a bit fearful.
The news is that the Islamic Education Center in Houston is being seized by the US Government because of alledged illegal connections of the Alavi Foundation (from whom the IEC leases their building from) in New York City to the Iranian government.
From the above Houston Chronicle article: IEC serves as a place of worship, celebration, community programs and study, according to the center's Web site. Its premises are occupied by one of Houston's largest Shia mosques and the Al Hadi School of Accelerative Learning, a full-time private Islamic school for kindergarten through 12th grade.
When this panorama was taken, school kids are inside trying to study and are being protected, but I am sure that there is someone connected to this that has fear of what comes next.
This hand-held 360-degree panorama was taken with a Leica D-Lux 3 and was stitched using the GigaPan Stitcher software. Additional details can be found on Stitcher Notes with information there concerning the GigaPan Stitcher run.

This Berlin Wall segment resides at the southeast corner of James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy.
In this panorama, we see Richard, a Rice University employee doing his job and I might add, cheerfully.
Last year, at the opposite corner, we found Heather finding peace and serenity in the Jamail Courtyard in front of Baker Institute: http://gigapan.org/gigapans/13445/
This hand-held 360-degree panorama was taken with a Leica D-Lux 3 and was stitched using the GigaPan Stitcher software and additional details can be found on Stitcher Notes with information there concerning the GigaPan Stitcher run.
