This expansive lava field is the newest in the lower 48 (1000 - 1500 years old). Taken with a Canon G9, just a simple handheld 360.

The EPCOT theme park is comprised of two part, the World Showcase and FutureWorld. This shot, taken on a November day 2009 shows the entire World Showcase and the 11 countries which are represented. The individual countries are staffed by citizens of the respective countries who work six month stints. The 11 countries, from left to right are: Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, USA, Japan, Morocco, France, UK and Canada. Looking towards FutureWorld you can see the annual Christmas Tree and beyond it, Spaceship Earth (the giant golf ball). In the center of the lagoon (25 feet deep at its deepest) you can see the platform which is used to anchor the nightly fireworks propane barge. The two Friendship boats on the lagoon are free floating, 100 passenger vessels which transport guests across the lagoon. The entire lagoon is roughly 1.3 miles (2km) around.

Home to the 3D movie "Honey I shrunk the Audience" and Figment's ride, the attraction has what was a cutting edge fountain at it's entrance that enchants children and adults. The Monorail track is overhead in this shot. Taken in mid-November 2009, it is off-season with light crowds. The structure rising above the trees to the right is the top of 'The Land' pavillion.

Spaceship Earth, the iconic emblem of EPCOT rises above the main plaza. This shot was taken as the park geared up for the Holiday season, 2009, hence the poinsettias in the flower bed. The fountain in the near distance is capable of keeping 2000 gallons of water in the air at a time and has choreographed displays to music throughout the day. Innovention East and West are to the left and right of the plaza.

Mission Space, designed with the help of NASA scientists, simulates a trip to Mars aboard a rocket. It is one of the most intense rides Disney has and the effects of launch (and touchdown) are the result of centrifical forces which spin riders at 2.5 G's. As it was so intense that it made many guests ill, they have since created a non-spinning version which is entertaining as well. I just love the swoopy lines of the entrance and the shiney planets. Taken in the Fall of 2009 during off-season.

Grabbed during a layover, tripod was in checked luggage, so this one was shot while holding the Gigapan head while it sat on the tilted railing.

Shot near sunset, the structure rising above the trees is the old water tower. The history of the waterways stretches back centuries. Note the swan house on the little island.

Shot from the 'Panorama Terrace', managed to grab four planes taking off. Didn't have the tripod since it was packed in the luggage so had to lay the Gigapan unit on the tilted railing and hope it worked. That is why it has the strange curvature to the image. Grabbed during a layover.
