In north-central Washington state, the Grand Coulee dam harnesses the Columbia river, generating hydroelectric power and irrigation water for much of the state.

Very high resolution pan of Seattle from Kerry Park.
This stitch required considerable manual intervention, and the result is somewhat disappointing. There is a pretty bad stitch error leaving the top of the space needle leaning slightly to the right and distorting part of the office tower behind it. Oh well.

Bellevue City Skyline seen from Somerset Hills.
Light conditions were changing during the taking of the images, leaving stripes of better and poorer illumination. This should be re-shot when better conditions are available.
Difficult to get a good alignment for googleEarth as there is hardly any 3d building data for Bellevue to serve as a reference. If someone adds it, I'll reposition this accordingly.

High resolution pan shot from the Alki Beach area across Elliott Bay. The vantage point from which this was shot is very close to that of an earlier pan. The season is different, and this one was shot through a telescope with a 1000mm focal length.
This pan focuses on the main skyline. To include more recognizable landmarks such as the Space Needle would have nearly doubled the size, processing time, and amount of manual intervention required.

Taken the Saturday before the October 2008 firestorm began. The weather was already getting windy.

Seattle Skyline and Elliott Bay from Kerry Park on Queen Anne Hill
This was shot from the same vantage point as the Skyline shot I posted earlier. The weather conditions were a bit different, providing a view of Mt. Rainier, but through slightly less clear air, resulting in generally less sharp imagery. The quality of the stitch is only fair this time, given inconsistent exposure, and somewhat more dynamic scenery: moving boats in the bay, moving cranes, etc. Still, the image expands on the perspective offered by the earlier entry. If considerably clearer conditions become available, I may try to get a better version in the future.
