spacer 226042x21693px image will make you surprised of the details and the hiden places that could be seen. This is I thing the widest view of the town Kocani where the alomost 70% of the town is visible.

This is the hand made panorama with predicted overlaping. I thought will never complite the result I got. Before last step corrections the pano was between 6-7Gpx, but in order to get the nice composition and quality it was cropped in Photoshop to 5Gpx. At the begining I almost reached the Photoshop limit of 300.000 px. Amazing experiance and result if you exclude the little visible mistakes. And the 30Gb file was uploading for ages.

spacer This panorama of the Chicago skyline was taken from Grant Park in front of the Buckingham Fountain on the afternoon of September 30, 2009. Fourteen portrait-mode images were stitched together.

from Wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckingham_Fountain
The fountain is considered to be Chicago's front door, since it resides from Grant Park, the city's front yard. The fountain, located at Columbus Drive and Congress Parkway, was designed with sculptures by Jacques Lambert. It was donated to the city by Kate Buckingham in memory of her brother, Clarence Buckingham. The fountain itself represents Lake Michigan, while each sea horse symbolizes a state bordering the lake. The statues were created by the French sculptor Marcel F. Loyau. The design of the fountain was based on the Bassin de Latome and modeled after Latona Fountain at Versailles. The fountain used to be known as the Clarence Buckingham Memorial Fountain. Kate Buckingham also established the Buckingham Fountain Endowment Fund with an initial investment of $300,000 to pay for maintenance on the fountain. Buckingham Fountain was dedicated on August 26, 1927.

Description of Cloud Gate
(from official Millenium Park website - http://www.millenniumpark.org/ )
Cloud Gate (aka "The Bean") is British artist Anish Kapoor's first public outdoor work installed in the United States. The 110-ton elliptical sculpture is forged of a seamless series of highly polished stainless steel plates, which reflect the city's famous skyline and the clouds above. A 12-foot-high arch provides a "gate" to the concave chamber beneath the sculpture, inviting visitors to touch its mirror-like surface and see their image reflected back from a variety of perspectives.

Inspired by liquid mercury, the sculpture is among the largest of its kind in the world, measuring 66-feet long by 33-feet high. Cloud Gate sits upon the At&T Plaza, which was made possible by a gift from AT&T.

Kapoor's Discussion of Cloud Gate:
"What I wanted to do in Millennium Park is make something that would engage the Chicago skyline…so that one will see the clouds kind of floating in, with those very tall buildings reflected in the work. And then, since it is in the form of a gate, the participant, the viewer, will be able to enter into this very deep chamber that does, in a way, the same thing to one's reflection as the exterior of the piece is doing to the reflection of the city around."

About the Panorama:
11 portrait-mode images were stitched together to create this image.

Giant Barack Obama bust stops in Austin - 20-foot tall concrete sculpture makes stop on way to Presidents Park in South Dakota.
By Claire Osborn AUSTIN AMERICAN-STATESMAN STAFF Monday, June 08, 2009

President Barack Obama's concrete head rested peacefully on an open-bed trailer outside Vino Vino wine bar on Guadalupe Street on Sunday evening. The 20-foot tall sculpture of the president had just been hauled from Houston (note: we shot this image at Adickes' Houston studio late in afternoon the Saturday before this article was written).

Its creator, 82-year-old artist David Adickes, is traveling with the 3½-ton bust and grinned as he looked at the head as it was parked on the street. "Most people just ogled it on the highway," he said. "Only one guy gave us the finger."

The sculpture began a 30-city tour Friday in Pearland, near Houston, and will end up in Presidents Park near Deadwood, S.D., joining the other 42 giant-size presidential busts Adickes has already made. He said he hopes to make it to Mount Rushmore by June 18 before taking it to the park he owns. Other cities on the tour include Fort Worth, St. Louis, Chicago, Minneapolis and Milwaukee.
