This is a big gigapan I shot on Saturday evening. It's a huge Gigapan and took 16 hours to stitch. 47 images wide X 23 images tall totaling 1081 images.
I missed some of the balloons on the first pass so I backed the unit up and reshot a section. The lighter background in the sky was caused when I readjusted the exposure during shooting. The sun was setting fast and light was fading. EDS Credit Union Plano Balloon Festival - Plano, Texas - September 19 - 21, 2008 http://www.planoballoonfest.org/fest-facts.html Enjoy the "Lofty Visions" as 70 magnificent, colorful, hot air balloons fill the skies over Plano Friday at 6:00pm, Saturday at 7:00am and 6:00pm, and Sunday at 7:00am and 6:00pm (weather permitting). Fun for all ages, are the Special Shapes that attend the festival. This year, the special shapes include: High Jack, Miss Daisy, Pandy the Panda, Oggy the Dragon, and Woodrow C. Greenleaf. |

This is the view from the roof of Bath Abbey.
I am amazed by this pano because I never expected it to stitch. I was delighted to get access to the roof of the main tower of the abbey, but dismayed when I realised the parapets were too high to see over, so there was no clear view of anything, and each corner of the roof has some tall stonework so even if I could get a view from one of the sides of the tower then I wouldn't be able to take a 360° pano. Given there was nothing else I could do, I held my camera over my head as high as I could and pointed it in the right general direction and took about 12 shots. I repeated this blind shooting on each of the four sides of the tower. Amazingly, not only did the four separate views stitch but the four views stitched into a 360°. Obviously there is a certain amount of distortion and parallax, but still, this is rapidly becoming one of my favourite shots. For a view of what is beneath the photographer's feet, see http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=7547. |

Tavazo-e-Bustan Nut Store is located in Bustan shopping center near Punak Square. I was walking in Bustan shopping center that I found this beautiful store. At first I thought maybe it is not a good place for a panorama because of the little space and distance from the camera, but fortunately I decided to give it a try. I love the result.
You can find many different kinds of nuts in the photo, also many chocolates, even drinks such as Rani :) Related Gigapan: Pounak Sq. ( http://gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=14066 ) Somehow the same: Everything-can-be-found Store! ( http://gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=9577 ) |

Hanauma Bay from the steps along the north rim: 25 rows x 70 columns. Mahalo nui loa to Randy Sargent for stitching this beast! Banding, again, due to strong trade winds and continuous cloud banks. Too many people to use the "pause" function efficiently, so I just let the body parts accumulate. | ||||

May I introduce Monica, a local artist with quite a personality.
I have been wanting to take this panorama for some time and finally had time to spend Saturday in San Antonio... little did I know that I would meet a very vibrant lady such as Miss Monica. As usual, this was taken with my Leica D-Lux 3 and as always, check out this gigapan in Google Earth via the GE link on the pano page. |

Snapshot: Griffins?: What are the animals we can see here? They look a little like griffins, but it seems strange to me that a building in SA would use such a gothic motif

This is a test of a technique to capture action in low light. I used the Canon G10 to capture the scene at .25-.60 second, ISO 80, accepting the fact that I could not capture peak action. I then shot action with the Nikon D3 at ISO 1000 and patched those parts into the scene in Photoshop. The Canon fits the GigaPan but has poor high-ISO performance; the Nikon works superbly at high ISOs but won't fit even the Epic 100. Let me know if you think the result is realistic. This GigaPan has been sized down to fit the 3K-per-side limit for JPG files-- the larger TIFF and RAW files would not upload.
