view of old-growth redwood forest canopy along Bull Creek from 330 feet, Humboldt Redwoods State Park

Here is another view from atop the largest (not tallest) tree in Humboldt Redwoods State Park. This is the world's tallest forest. About a dozen of the trees visible in this panorama are over 360 feet tall. Can you find the two trees standing side by side with solar-powered sensor arrays? These are the only known live-topped redwoods over 360 feet tall whose crowns touch.

"Dude" - you get around the web !! Happened to stumble upon these images tonight, reading about redwoods and forests. I had not even heard of Gigapan before. Per your photo caption question - yes, with the enlarger tool, the monitoring equipment shows, including what looks like a wind gauge. There are two more obvious clusters of equipment - is that two trees, or one tree with two leaders? Because another tree to the left, appears to have an antennae. Hard to tell if it's an antennae, or a dead top, but it looks skinny. Cheers, Mario Vaden The Oregon Arborist
