I've been doing photography off and on since I was about 10. There was a period when I got to work with large format view cameras and I really enjoyed the results. With the new digital technology, I'm finding large format has a new meaning and find myself drawn toward this work.
I have used both Photoshop CS2 and autostitch for stitching. While photoshop is easier to use, autostitch gives better results when photoshop leaves gaps.
autostitch is public domain and likes to be credited: http://www.cs.ubc.ca/~mbrown/autostitch/autostitch.html
Currently using Hugin.
Now, I wonder if a gigapixel image of a model would be appropriate here? After all, I could certainly place her in the exact geographical location where the picture was taken.

Taken a little earlier than the other one, warping it to get a rectangular image resulted in a new valley that wasn't there...

Had to warp things a bit to make them fit in a horizontal picture, but warping is par for the course.

I was told one time that this guy is close to being the record holder for size or age for his species. Unfortunately I've forgotten which species that was. I do remember that the normal size for this kind is like 20 feet tall and no more than a foot in diameter.
This is five images stitched together.

I asked at a gas station where there was a place with some shade to picnic at, and was told to try this place. Very nice little park and this view.
I can see the exact location where I took the picture in the map locator, but it won't let me select it...

Looking east from the sideling hill outlook on I68, about 10 miles west of Hancock. To the far left in the distance is Pennsylvania, directly in front is Maryland, and off to the right is West Virgina.

Middle of a hot summer day in Washington, DC. This is part of Dupont Circle, always having a very wide selection of nationalities, races and strange people along with normal people. It was about 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
